St. Catharines - June 2004
I think that this is mostly a holdover from a now defunct powerplant shown later. It seems to hold one or two lines used now for the rail line and to light the canal.

An adjacent railbridge. This was mostly a grey day, but the light in the water was a fantastic rich green.

The remains of the powerplant. You can see, across the rest of the canal, the big paper factory.

Inside a smaller cement building at the near side of the plant. This door had been smashed open since my last visit. I love the shade of blue of the door, though it doesn't come through well in this photo.

Downsteam. That fence has been cut open, as have all the fences around the plant. Not much sign of parties, though.

This photo and the following two are of exposed rebar in a washed out section of the dams downstream side. Only that one section was this damaged, and I am not certain why. The water was a fantastic colour, though.
